The most beautiful thing about our beautiful Constitution is the separation of powers, both horizontally between branches and vertically (federalism). As Lord Acton said, power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It has become the job of thinking people to force a mirror into the hands of the unthinking masses who would unwittingly vote for more of what we have now.

People should pick up a copy of the Federalist Papers and (re?)gain some understanding of what we were founded to be. Spoiler alert - the founders did not have a polyglot dystopian shithole in mind.

Let’s work together to reclaim our constitutional Republic from its thieves. We are a constitutionally limited representative Democratic Republic with a communist infestation in full swing. Our founders wrote of the dangers of mob rule in a direct democracy. I also cringe when people call the United States a democracy. Thanks for your article.

We have been using some words for so long that we do not remember what they actually mean. Democracy and Republic are heading that list. The extract you have found on the Republic being an "EMPIRE OF LAWS" is extremely powerful. That's not what we have been told but that's what we are living. And I don't mean here the USA but the whole not very "democractic" world.
