Achievement is not success
Society is in a downward expectation spiral
We have come to a time in history where our economy is being led by achievement but not success! We have arrived here due to digital technology and A.I that now allows things to happen that up to 2000 ‘s would have no way would have happened. In the past it was to expensive and the level of comprehension just wasn’t available. It was what was called out of reach! Now we are in a time of reaching….. We are in a time of empowerment of the individual!
Now I am stating that is not success! The goal was to have success not accomplishment! I do not feel folks know the difference! Let’s get to the definitions here asap………
accomplishment - 1) Something that has been achieved successfully. 2) Achievement of a task. 3) An activity a person can do well, typically as a result of study or practice. 4) Something achieved after a lot of work or effort.
Success - 1) The accomplishment of an aim or purpose. 2) The accomplishment of desired visions and planned goals. 3) Attaining wealth, prosperity and or fame.
With the digital economy and now A.I being launched taking flight individuals can now achieve things! It just allows a level of narcissistic behavior and ego driven action. This also now allows consumers in our time into many superfluous activities that can be viewed as doing something of substance!
I see it all over the music industry with the ‘digital audio workstation’ (D.A.W) apparatus that is fueling all of what I call devalued music output! Now anyone can make this stuff. Talented or not! In fact what is called talent has been removed from the narrative. Anyone can wake up and say I want to make a song (achievement) yet doesn’t mean success of many people discovery the person as a music creator. I do not call this those individuals necessarily an artist!
This now has created all kinds of illusions and delusions which are not necessary. Folks are achieving but millions are having no success because millions of songs do not have one listen! I call this output ‘creative fodder’! Yes, I guess you can say those individuals achieved something on a personal level but absolutely no success has taken place.
Right now I am at this level of achievement myself! I have achievement with writing/authorship/storytelling. This column is an achievement. My up coming new narrative Humanistry is an achievement as my third published book which puts a coda on my journey over seven years! Finishing six manuscripts is an achievement. Now it is about deriving success from all of this achievement. In other words I haven’t done anything just yet! Now the game begins!
Going forward I have just jumped on the highway to success………. I need you guys to come along with me. The race to success is the focus. It has been a wonderful yet challenging transition. Now I have to make a huge mental shift from achievement to the pursuit of success. Gonna see what I am made of.
We are truly in the era of systems of compliance and distraction is what all of this achievement does to our society. We are chasing achievement now not success. Individuals are being content with this personal egocentric output. Please be aware of this as we move forward. I am not deluded at all about this! I know that I have not done anything of substance. That whole idea has been now lost in this new ‘everyone gets a trophy’ driven society that has taken over!
