I was meditating and deliberating on what can we do as humans to find the light in our life. Find the positivity in this current society of negative, fear/scare and bathing in the pain society we are in. I went to the natural plant and got away from this screen and artificial world which is dominant especially in urban societies.
When I look at a plant it appears just to be there. It doesn’t seem to be a decisive entity, yet plants instinctively know what they need! Researchers have found that a plant will lean itself to where the light aka the sun is coming from. Please pause and think about that……. A plant is a stationary thing. They do not have legs like we do! Finding the light is called prototropism! Prototropism is defined as the ability of the plant to reorient the shoot growth towards the light according to Google. This apparently allows the plants to optimize their photo synthetic capacity.
it is only since the late 1800’s that human botanists have begun to unravel the key pathways that explain how plants sense light and then do what they do. In a article from Quanta magazine dot org dated 1/31/24 a team of European researchers believe they found an answer. They apparently studied a roadside weed called ‘Arabidopsis…..that apparently uses the air spaces between its cells to scatter light, modifying the path of light passing through its tissues. The air channels create a light gradient that helps seedlings accurately determine where light is coming from. Humans do not have this skill or tool!
Humans have the ability to utilize the concept of choice/options. We do not have to go to the light. We can go to the dark! As our society continues to be driven by the darkness the human light of independence and freedom is being discounted. I propose here we need to live more like a plant! This will improve our society in so many ways.

There is only love and hate……your choice. There is only fear and freedom…..your choice.
Now what will your mind allow you to do?
I love the metaphor here.... And I would love to see humans develop the capacity to orient themselves to the light. Cheers to that!
