I have been doing extensive reading on Nikola Tesla! At the turn of the 1800’s going into the 1900’s he was stating that we as a society could have free energy from the earth around us. Mr. Tesla postulated that it was in front of us! Since then we have not been able to move beyond what he was attempting to postulate and then execute. It is 130 years later! Yet we are always talking about quote unquote innovation!
We as a society are currently caught up in A.I which doesn’t add to our society in a meaningful way. All that is taking place is that the human will be much less relevant in our economic structure. The human is being discounted right in front of our face!
Currently we speak of electric cars as if they are a savior to the earth. Like the climate will be saved! There were electric cars 120 years ago! For whatever reason they did not catch on. However, now we are touting Tesla cars as if they are the greatest thing since slice bread.
As I have read more and more about the time Mr. Tesla it is a wonder how he didn’t get the funding necessary to explore what his visions were. He was under capitalized! I do understand why he wasn’t funded but sometimes you have to go beyond your current limited visions that would hurt your pocket. I know I know utopian thought….. Lol.
According to the University of California Davis the 70% of solar energy the earth absorbs per year equals roughly 3.85 million exajoules. That is apparently translates to the amount of energy hitting the earth in one hour is more than enough to power the world for one year! When this is thought about with the trillions of dollars spent on war what would happen if some of that capital was spent on putting the best minds to harness all of this free energy? Talk about change! Talk about innovation!
I do understand that we live in a world of interests. We do not live in a world of what would be best for society but what would be best for certain interests! What is in front of us doesn’t have to be. All of what you see is choice. So when you hear about energy and we are in a crisis that is a choice!!! Free energy is all around us but our various human conditions just will not allow this to happen.
In closing, Mr. Tesla had the defining philosophy of ‘Principle over Profit’. It appears we need a little bit more of principle because profit just won’t allow it. With only thirty percent of solar power deflected by the earth’s atmosphere we are wasting that seventy percent! That is a lot to unpack in our future.
