Industrial Brain and Digital Brain
The world has inverted!
About eight years I realized that my industrial age mind/brain was hindering me! It was a defining moment! having to accept that your knowledge and thought streams were now not to important was something to face head on! All of the time spent to accept so much knowledge and information wasn’t relevant! This gave birth to me becoming the AKcidentalwriter via Live Digital oor Be Irrelevant.
Industrial thought was a totally different beast I had to accept than digital thought. The world had changed. I was slow to realize! My conundrum was to understand the difference because there is such a difference. Digital has us going micro aka niche! Industrial had us go big or go home! That was the point of living in my eyes!
However, a funny thing happened…..the internet which brought us this digital lifestyle. Now it is a time of go small or go home1 They call it niche! Sounds better doesn’t it…… LOL. Now it is now go small or go home! For awhile I grasp this but not in my mind set. I was still attempting to go big or go home! I see it all through society now.
To go big you gotta dream! So I am making a bold statement here now dreaming is not as big in our society now! The eyes are not sparkling like in the industrial past in my assessment. Hope does not spring eternal! Fear (niche) is the lubricant that is run through people now. I listen to young folks conversations while being out and about……dreaming is not part of the vernacular! To dream you must be willing to take a leap.! You must be bottled up with fear! You must be willing to look quote unquote stupid! You must go beyond tired so you can get to exhaustion! You must be willing to embrace and show love to the unknown! Digital doesn’t allow this because you must be in your niche(safety).
Now I do understand the digital business model and I have accepted it. However, I will say a part of me just can’t remove that industrial mindset. I have given up trying to remove it or nullify it in my daily existence. I have incorporated it with my digital mind set. I came up in the industrial age so I guess it is part of my DNA. I have just figured out how to live with it. What a challenge it has been. Go small and unique! Leverage to the hilt!
