James Cameron and what's next finally!
I read an article about James Cameron the great director/Hollywood Maven of Terminator/Avatar fame and it allowed me perspective of how I function to get a project completed. He said during Avatar one he went over budget and declined his salary. I have done that throughout my entrepreneurial story line! However, this time I really took it to the next level or next extreme in the past 12 months.
I have finally completed all of my vault material of ideas. I now have three ‘‘full blooded’’ manuscripts, one sheets, white papers of concepts that are ready for introduction of concepts, prototype concepts that are ready for introduction. This period has been compelling, impactful, and one of deep-seated evolutionary steps that I needed to start up this next stage.
I was in such a groove that I couldn’t stop because if I pressed pause, I may not have gotten back into that some groove. I spent myself to execute this, but I had to burn my old ways because I saw they were antiquated and if I want to exponentially get to the next stage of this journey called life, I had to grind in such a way that I would have to discover while in the midst of this process which the narratives (books) will explore and explain. I now live by the quote ‘‘while in the middle of it I can’t see’’. I totally turned that upside down. I had to see in the middle of it so I wouldn’t miss what was truly happening.
I was in the midst of changing taking a great chance on myself going officially from the industrial economy to the network economy. I had to take the dive necessary to speed up iteration. It was about letting go to make space for what is next. That was the greatest challenge letting go of things, ways, ideas, beliefs that place you in a static formation. Now as I write this, I am going into the deep dive of the ‘‘network economy’’ which is totally a different economy and a different way of being. The more I dug into this I saw I didn’t possess the time to waste. Speed of iteration is my premium and with that I had to go ‘‘network not industrial’’. Here is a quote:
The best way to predict the future is to invent it. Alan Keys.
I have been conceiving, developing, writing, and creating the assets for this network economy. Some may call this rebranding; I am calling my process reimagination because all what I have done is use that old thing ‘‘practical imagination’’. Just using the left and right side of the brain.
I had to take stock of myself in real time. If I was trading, I sold all of my old self (stock) and bought my evolving self very cheap! I saw that trading hours for dollars which is the system I was brought up in was being phased out quietly. I knew I had to get on the right side of history asap. Our old belief systems, structures that were developed post 1929 were evolving or morphing too somewhere else. These pieces of the puzzle if put together in an updated way will put together the puzzle in a fresh way.
During this process like Mr. Cameron, I sacrificed financial stability and consistency to complete the start-up I.P assets to propel myself in this ever-increasing network economy as we go deeper into 2020’s. I am excited to be finalizing my rollouts to officially join the network I.P economy. How I am doing this I will be forming two new creative/innovated companies. One is a conceptual lifestyle design agency and the other a content studio that is based around music and storytelling vehicles that have been developed in house. I will be my first client at the lifestyle design agency to showcase the creative design and thought of the agency.
This is a time to ‘‘roll the dice’’ now in this network economy. Avatar, one went on to the most successful up to that point. Mr. Cameron got paid back and made the investors’ money and now I am taking that path only I am the ‘‘media creator’’ and taking the pathway of ‘‘betting on myself’’. I am no way comparing myself to Mr. Cameron however the principle is very similar. Believing in your vision, postponing salary/payment to make sure the project gets completed so it can come alive and be part of life. Being in this situation allows you to decide who you are and what you truly want.
I found out a lot of things about myself during this process. It is the process actually that turns out to be the critical part of it not what was
produced or created. I will be sharing and launching with you here on Cultural, Philosophical Fireworks. I am premiering the cover of the cover of the upcoming project which is my next narrative called Humanistry! It has all been designed in house. This is the first project to showcase what the ‘‘design fiction’’. This is so exciting for me to see how people respond.
This is the ‘‘Network Economy’’ of I.P. The I.P means ‘‘Ideas and People’’ in my vision beyond the old term of Intellectual property. I will be seeking partners and fellow collaborators including sponsors and patrons who can respect and see the vision to jump start my next announcement which will be a multimedia international project. This will be a time of constant fresh reimagination. It is quite fun actually. So much is fresh not necessarily new but fresh! It gives me a reason to look forward and most importantly wake up the next day! Thank you. Now what will your mind allow you to do?
