Why our egos should be tempered is because it based on the illusion of taking ourselves too seriously! In my daily diligence I came across so much that I am clueless about that makes me just say thank God for the many on the planet! What would we do without the many on the planet. Trust and reputation are so hard to gain yet so hard easy to lose.
Many things, conceptions and beliefs are just so fleeting. When you truly think about life’s foibles. So much of what we do is based on miscalculation of ourselves or perceptions. Here is why I am saying this above. I discovered this email that the late Steve Jobs wrote a few months before he died which made me freeze! It was very deep and here it goes:
I grow little of the food I eat, and of the little I do, grow
I didn’t breed or perfect the seeds.
I do not make any of my own clothing.
I speak a language I didn’t invent or refine.
I didn’t discover the mathematics I use.
I am protected by freedoms and laws. I didn’t conceive of legislate, and do not enforce or adjuvate.
I am moved by music I didn’t create myself.
When I needed medical attention, I was helpless to help myself survive.
I didn’t invent the transistor, the microprocessor, object-oriented programming, most of the technology I work with.
I love and admire my species, living and dead, and I am totally dependent on them for life and well-being.
Mr. Jobs emailed that to himself on 9/2/2020.
I can only imagine what he must have had on his mind. He knew his time on this earth was winding down. There was totally no ego in those words from someone of his stature and the impact he had on humanity all over the planet in his adult life. For him who still touches people in death to have said those words then 99.99.99 % of us should just pump the brakes on the idea of ego.
In closing, in my upcoming narrative #Humanistry I discuss heavily the ‘‘human condition’’ which as we move forward in this technology driven 2020’s will become much more important to reference. Now what will your mind allow you to do.
