Pop culture is American culture

Something that is being lost and that is changing global culture in very real time is the decline of American/pop culture! Global culture is being cheapened and flattened with #DigitalTechnology , Tribalism and nationalism are increasing quickly! Now anyone and everyone can get a message out or content out that is based on their local visions. The positive in this is individuals pride and self respect have likely increased. The flipside is general pop culture will suffer.

The whole idea of pop culture was to reach everyone with your message. Pop culture is a derivative from American culture. Popular culture meant you rose above the tribalism because everyone took a liking to what you put forth. That was critical to the growth of America. America is a concept/idea. It is not one people but one idea. All other countries are one people or type. That what was said always will make America an outlier. A 180 degree threat to the world cultural authorities.. The idea of America is that it doesn’t matter your tribe, your ethnicity, your race etc. The message, the vision and or the idea resonated above those things!

Pop culture translated to saying ‘‘human culture’’. It wasn’t placed in a cage! It wasn’t in a box. It didn’t have to fit in. I like to say it should fit out! That pop culture is American because America is not a tribe or clan. It is a cultural ramification! It doesn’t have a box. It takes you out of the box. It takes you out of your projected limitations. It takes you outside the edge. From a commercial stand point it was genius. This gave the idea everyone was one! Everyone had a chance. This was in theory of course. However, what a wonderful theory. America is not a group of one people from the DNA perspective. It is the first country/nation that is based on a ‘‘cultural DNA’’ strain.

It is a philosophical based! However, it is not a cult in this era, pop culture is on the decline and with that so is America. The devaluation of pop culture is a De facto devaluation of American culture. Now I need you to pause and think about that! That pop culture terrifies other cultures because it has the capability to super cede so much. The inner beauty of the concept called American is you don’t have to look like each other but you still identify with each other. I remember when I was travelling extensively I got educated on what America represents! It represents a swagger that only America possesses. The message we carry with us without even realizing it!

The American way is a way that now with the technology being so overwhelming is being neutered and is losing ground! That swagger is being lost and more importantly that swagger is being homogenized! The pilot light is being extinguished instead of being distinguished. The technology is now being front loaded with the A.I is extinguishing that now. A ‘‘global antiseptic culture’’ of one amalgamation is being created which I am saying will search for distinction. #DISTINCTIONBEINGLOST. What people have forgot or I believe they never knew is that distinction takes time to arrive! You just do not wake up and go ‘‘waa lah’’

Right now as I type this on 7/15/23 tribalism is taking over the table of contents of cultural content. However, underneath it the American way is the foundation because of this idea of pop culture. Technology does not create pop culture!! It can and will create a viral moment which are different than cultural statements that stick. This is why stickiness is becoming a rarity. The music industry shows you this! Where are the stars since 2016? Billie Eilish and ……… I have said digital/A.I have killed the music superstar! #Absolutelynostickiness. Technology only feeds the tech! Technology does not feed culture no matter how much it wishes to depict that it does. The lack of stickiness tells me I am on the right path.

Tribalism is about a tribe. Americans of 1800’s and 1900’s did an incredible job to create this. Now of course we have the shrapnel of this but it allows a constant messaging. America isn’t white. America isn’t black! The idea of America erases that to where it goes to a philosophy. That is the theory and it has worked at times. I have said before and I will say it here again…AMERICA IS THE GREATEST MARKETING PLAN EVER CREATED.

When I was overseas I was just American and not black! That took a little getting use to. It showed me that America has done this oppression so well that I had to be outside of America to be absolutely American. What a concept right….. lol! I represented the idea of America to the foreigners. I saw the philosophy ad concept in real time. Technology is gnawing at America’s ankles. We are losing that mojo which allowed us to swagger. That swagger was profitable for many not just the few. Prior to America the few was the way of the world.

The many having a chance is an historic anomaly that many have lost sight because they are clueless of the bulk of human history now. The bulk of human history the many were destine for a destination that they were stuck in for the journey of there individual life. There was no chance of generational change! With this indoctrination education system we are in and the technological haze of the present future steam rolling society I see an increase of not knowing the incredible opportunity Americans possess. Also, I see folks live in an ‘‘reactive emotional’’ mindset.

Please I am making a personal plea to look at the technology and A.I beyond the precepts of productivity, efficiency, speed and cheapness. We must be aware of this technological tribalism that will only benefit the few while impersonating it will assist the many. Here is the trick of the tech….. it allows all to potentially participate but it creates a ‘‘WINNER TAKE ALL’’ situation. The music industry proves that and was the poster child. I do not feel people see that. If they see it they are to scared to speak up.

We have arrived at the 54th state of the union of ‘‘technological hegemonic devaluation’’ that will curtail culture and bring out average more and more. This average will be ‘‘the maestro of culture’’. Believe it or not pop culture is/was the greatest of challenges to execute! Technological tribalism is the ‘‘low hanging fruit’’ of this technological/A.I period. The ease of it all creates this low hanging fruit syndrome. Pop culture winning is not for the many it is for the best to rise. The many are not built for that. That it is there is only one Michael Jordan. The many can not sign up.

In closing, the technologist aka The Digerati uses words fair and democratic to me in a very abusive fashion that misleads the masses! Everything thing does not have to be delivered from a political doorstep! I can’t stand the code word abuse! All we have created is a increase of delusion based on illusion. The many are not fit to be the few! Let me repeat ….The many can’t be the few!
