The ''Post'' Series Launch

Post Reality world has arrived

I have been executing a series of perception experiments over the last month or so. This has led me to developing a series named ‘‘The Post series’’. I am explaining a series of Post Subjects. I will start today with the elephant in every bodies room! It is the word that many of us think or feel we have correct. The maiden post column will be on the word reality. Let’s get to it without further adieu…….

I will start with the definition of Post: 1) Behind 2) after 3) Later 4) Subsequent to 5) Posterior to 6) Originally in loan words from Latin (postscript) English prefix post means after. I will now state we are in a ‘‘post reality world’’. Now lets define reality - The world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. 2) The state or quality of having existence or substance.

As I mix more and more in random situations of observance it appears to me that we are in a post reality world because we have emerged into one of overt idealism. These ideals have perpetuated our social structure to a series of bubbles! We do not possess a consensus at the moment in history. Our social world is defined by bubbles which means lets go to that definition: 1) A thin sphere of liquid enclosing air or another gas. 2) Used to refer to a good or fortunate situation that is isolated from reality or unlikely to last.

With the advent of ‘‘screen life’’ becoming reality for many due to social media aligned with our devices, we have lost the ability to deal in the outer reality of our surroundings. In the age of empowerment, bubbles and illusions have skyrocketed. We feel that we can filter our life through a screen. We have been empowered to do so because we are now ‘‘professional influencers’’. There goes another word that is in this post reality framework. In this currently configured world you can wake up tomorrow somehow go what is now called viral and then ‘‘wah - lah’’ you are a influencer. You now then have license to be empowered to create your idealistic world. For me I do not see much wisdom and depth in our society at the moment. Much is now instant, quick and fast! The A.I tsunami only enhances what I am stating of a post reality world. The pandemic and climate change are elements of a post reality world.

Now with our five senses being reduced to uselessness, the statement I saw it with my own eyes will mean less and less in this post reality world. Our five senses are being devalued without a memo given to us. Now the frightening thing is individuals/society still have to make many decisions based on our five senses! The bubble world that we each have personally manufactured to get to this destination of reality will be challenged ! However, in society the idea of mental health is always on the front door and front page of society. If your mental health is being questioned then what I am stating is we are in a post reality world becomes even more credible. We are being told our mental health is inadequate!

Reality is being usurped. Reality is being burned to the ground. Reality gave us a consistency that is being lost. That reality allowed us to agree to disagree which now we can’t seem to do. With the decline of reality we have lost objectivity and devolving to enhanced subjectivity. We must now be literally subjected to all and anything without any confirmation. It just is! With this devolvement to data anything can be massaged and suddenly is a constructed reality that has wallpaper for walls.

In this post reality you will have to increase your learning curve so you can navigate. However, objective education versus biased indoctrination will be the key. Reality is not liking or disliking. Reality isn’t about favorite or non favorite. Reality is understanding that you misunderstand yet you can keep evolving without it being turned into a stalemate. The pathway is to be able to say in this era I don’t know!

In closing, Post reality is here due to the technology that is in everyone’s hands. You can go online and find justification for whatever you wish. This is why we can see the overt slippage of ethics and morals. Tech and science will give you a solution but it is not absolute. It is temporary and with that my next post column has been decided.
