Writing apprenticeship is Complete
The next episode commences
Over the last seven days, I found the exclamation points to my odyssey as I become something I would not imagined……. being a professional writer/storyteller/mobile game designer and in 2024 my first documentary on a subject that crosses culture. I can’t not wait to start on this initial documentary. Hence, the song Valotte by Julian Lennon which has the lyrics that I often quote….. How do you know when the change is going to come? I got all of the hints that the change, I have been anticipating is on the runway getting ready for takeoff.
Writing/storytelling is a ‘‘protective game’’. You are not interacting with no one but yourself. It is quite different than nightlife and music where you are in a ‘‘unprotective game’’. I have lived many important chapters in life. I have lived the extreme! I have the past DNA of trading financial based options/stocks. It is you against the market but more importantly it is ‘‘YOU AGAINST YOU’’! All your inner you is under duress! The constant questioning of yourself. I collaborated with a young trader this summer to pass on my DNA of knowledge to him. Also that time got me back in the game mentally. That game is always my favorite. It is just you…… No excuses. Most people never confront themselves well being a trader and a writer you must confront yourself to have a break through. This is why I tell people it is no time to judge some other because I have the standing issue of dealing with myself.
Due to this Covid sabbatical enforced by this military operations/weapons test against the civilian population, I felt I had to go in another direction. When Joe Biden weaponized the vaccine against the taxpayers, I saw without a doubt the change had come. We were somewhere else in human history and I questioned myself what the heck you gonna do? I wrote my second book in 2020 early 2021 waiting for things to calm down. They didn’t stop so I started conceiving my latest book called Humanistry where I question everything in front of me and come out the other side realizing I know absolutely nothing. I realize that ‘‘intellect is dead’’ for me going forward. The world is changing at high speed yet most are waiting for what it was prior! I know things are not going back to what it was so I must go somewhere else because there is a new playbook in play. I am wading through a totally different mindset! It is not for the faint of heart! You can’t really explain things because the change is going to come! By the time the change is obvious it is way to late.
I had to accept that all of the thoughts of a structured world were crumbling in front of my own eyes. So I just decided to become a #ObservationalReporter and also be a puzzle solver. A new updated script for the world was being implemented. As I said in my last week’s column ‘‘The pocket collapsed’’! Those who are NFL fans know that is not a good thing for the quarterback. Picture yourself as the quarterback! I saw there were new rules to the game yet our so called elected leaders or better put our representatives were not speaking honestly to us in this time of grave fluid change. Stop and look at the verbiage…… elected leader or representative. In the media they mostly always say leader to us! Meaning we are to follow them! They are not our leader. When you say representative it changes the texture. Our country is based on representatives not leaders! In fact let’s get the definitions so we can be clear:
leader - the person who leads or commands a group or inspire others. They motivate teams through challenging times and guide individuals through their career progressions. They keep teams aligned with shared goals.
Representative - A person chosen or appointed to act or speaks for another.
During this time I dived into etymology, semantics and reopened my vocabulary growth. Words have a distinctive element to every persons reality. Expand your verbiage you expand your very limited reality! Writing five books (non fiction), mobile game script, three fiction graphic novels that are episodic so I had to expand verbiage. I had to expand my limited reality! I had to challenge the right side of my brain to do the game and fiction stories. The non fiction which drives the left side of the brain was basically using paint by numbers.
‘‘I know I am not made for the times ahead of me’’! That is a a Beach Boy song I discovered on the Pet Sounds album considered a masterpiece album of rock. When the Beach boys were competing with The Beatles for creative expansion and superiority. Brian Wilson is quite a genius for that Pet Sounds album. He was ahead of his time! The song ‘‘I just wasn’t made for these times’’….. I know I am not! I joined Linked In due to the book coming out and now becoming a professional writer with three books under my belt. I had to join up to be part of the artificial relationship world of social media as a book publisher. In order to succeed I have to evolve mentally from writer to publish! I am not on social media due to the fact I will not work for free for ‘‘The Digerati’’ as a data miner! I can not be part of this feudalism based on the attack on the human condition and add to the Digerati’s coffers.
On 8/18/23 I connected with a corporate literary agent. That was massive for me at my level in the author/book game. She apparently liked my Linked In profile. A fifteen minute call that went to thirty five minutes. At the end of the call she said I will post your book on my page for a day to introduce it to her massive influential audience. I was knocked out and blown away! She didn’t have to do that. I then saw I am at the cusp of something that could expand exponentially! I have been editing the book all year. Putting the time and focus in. This also kept the book fresh and updated. My publisher assist team in Atlanta have been patient and wonderful to me. This the first book I put myself all into. The first two I was more casual and didn’t get in front of with myself.
During the summer I also did my first two speaking gigs at libraries discussing my principle of irrelevance as a innovation tool. I have two more slated late summer and one in October. This tour of the Jersey City library system is a prototype to pitch libraries across the nation strategically. I wish to reach people directly in intimate settings to make direct real connection not artificial/screen connection. I will announce the name and several initiatives that are attached to it. I can’t wait to get started.
During this apprenticeship I have been stockpiling what I am labeling M.A.W. I will let you know what M.A.W is in the near future. M.A.W is also a key part of the next book on the ‘‘New Updated American dream’’. In order to introduce myself as a professional author and speaker I have various tools that will be activated. My mind is shifting from production to sales and marketing. In order to get the game and film out into the wild in 2024 I will be executing a series revenue events and announcements. Instead ‘‘boot strapping I am ‘‘Book Strapping’’…. lol. If you are aware of any non profit organizations who you feel could be interested in my message in the books and my speaking gigs please do not hesitate to reach out. Selling bulk books will speed up my process to get those two projects and another that I am keeping quiet about until it comes to fruition. I have the project written up already and now I just need the production budget.
I am joining the e-commerce and network economy which is the basis of the Patronage economy. My Substack open rate for Creative Philosophical Fireworks is 45 percent. That is an incredible opening rate. I want to thank you here and now as I come up on it’s birthday in September. If you guys would share the column for me in the future that would be an incredible blessing! I am attempting to reach fresh eyes in the second season of it. The column is to spark people. It is to get people to see another side. It is about debate and expansion of the mindset. From when I started last September 13th 2022 my subs are up over 300 percent. A whole year of consistently churning out a column. I do not believe it. The column keeps me fluid and fresh. Sometimes I do not have something but a spark will come. This column has made me a much more confident writer/storyteller.
In Closing, the past six months were a challenge to say the least. But I got here in one piece intact and for the better. #BetOnYourself. I will need reviews on this new book so I will need you guys on this to push me to another level as a author. This column bumped another pre written column because I saw it was time to graduate from my apprenticeship. I have estimated to have over the 10K hours of writing and creating during these last three years. Yes I took it old school….. The old 10000 hours theory! All I need is a editor down stream in the future to tighten me up. Seeking a screen writing partner for the films as I go more to fiction writing. I have improved in editing myself but you need other eyes to be more successful. My next book on the American Dream is slated for 2024 and a small publisher is interested in it. Yeah that also happened. I could have a publisher for my next one. That was so cool for them to request the manuscript. Linked in assisted me again. I have a special plan for that book so stay tuned.
