Agreed, agreed, agreed!

I continually rail against those who insist short form, basically bullet points, is the way to succeed on social media platforms and to keep the content simple, no 'big words'! I occasionally watch a reaction video on YouTube and am constantly amazed that when they analyse the lyrics they do so literally (or pretty much so). The last I watched was of Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath where the presenter believed the song was about someone who had got on a train that malfunctioned and they couldn't stop it! Seriously!!

I think AI may be winning this race.

I view this as a part of the systemic numb down/dumb down of the human species. people are acting more like a data point now than a human being. Folks are losing there humanity. we must press pause now and look around because now folks just think fast is superior. I feel for the future.

If you google anything the first thing is a AI summary. Amazon uses it in their reviews now. Memes are no longer a artist rendered statement. They are vivid, renditions. If a fact, it has to be qualified. Put in the word Carrageenan you get AII, Carrageenan is a natural, sulfated polysaccharide extracted from red seaweeds that's used in many products as a thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, and gelling agent: Not familiar with the word takes more research. Gums, Thickeners, and Emulsifiers in Food: Are They Really Bad? https://elmhurst1925.com/blogs/news/gums-thickeners-and-emulsifiers-in-food-are-they-really-bad?srsltid=AfmBOoptfkG4vFoc0GJLoihc3LMmiKN0WMboSZTKw1GnMthVMnydLC88. It is that but a harmful substance that has been our food 40+ years. Which is not the info you seek You must include GASTRIC to get your answer And scroll down. Some scientific studies show that carrageenan does not get metabolized or altered in the stomach, and almost all of it is excreted without being absorbed or having any effect on the digestive system except for diarrhea or loose stools in some people. https://www.medicinenet.com/what_is_wrong_with_carrageenan/article.htm#:~:text=Some%20scientific%20studies%20show%20that,loose%20stools%20in%20some%20people. Still not the answer. Try a few more you get Ulcer. Some scientists believe that carrageenan can cause inflammation, digestive problems, such as bloating and irritable bowel disease (IBD), and even colon cancer. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/323117.

You have to be discerning in your use of info you seek. The fact it is a Seaweed is not on a label nor how widely it is used. Those who are Seafood Allergic are slowly affected by it. And will require a GERD medication.

Ozempic/Wegovy print out gives you a list of side effects to expect, nowhere in the print out is the Gastric Disease Gastroparesis mentioned, But it is what prolonged use oof the 2 drugs can cause. Cleveland Clinic hasn't added it to their list yet. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15522-gastroparesis, but describes the same symptoms Gastroparesis means paralysis of the stomach. It’s a functional disorder affecting your stomach nerves and muscles. It makes your stomach muscle contractions weaker and slower than they need to be to digest your food and pass it on to your intestines. This leads to food sitting too long in your stomach.

So yes be careful how it affects your searches. And answers you get from doctors. In the words of my 53 year old Type 2 diabetic son, MOST HORRID DRUG I'VE EVER HAD. All to lose 14 lbs Which comes back when you go off them. Changing your diet may be slower, but it works, you have to read labels better. 14 months ago I weighed 177, this morning 137.

Thank you for this insightful response. I am glad your son just got a proper diet. That Ozempic thing is the worse thing ever. It is again a short cut. I hope people just get back to the basics. But then I thought you must now the basics! That is the purpose of the dumb done numb done

I love how you compare fast food with fast information. I feel the calling is to go on a fast and exchange junk information with quality and nutritional intake that feeds our souls and makes us grow! Thank you!

I starting to think the ADA improvements on streets and walkways are for the robots, not us. Do you have "tactile warning strips" in your sidewalks? They're uncomfortable for handicapped and dangerous for women in heels, but they're everywhere. I cannot reconcile that the US department of transportation cares so much about blind people that they're willing to spend billions on these yellow atrocities. The robots are coming and they'll be heralded like TV dinners - a convenience we all could use.

I am glad to read this. The dumbing down has been going on for quite a while, for sure ever since I was a kid and quite likely since the early 20th century. (See John Taylor Gatto -- you might already be familiar with his work.)

Art has a lot to do with it, most definitely. In particular, if we understand what "art" really is (was) then it has a lot to do with nearly everything. We are literally reaching a Man vs. Machine age and a Butlerian Jihad may be in order.

Was not aware of Mr. Gatto. Thanks for letting me know. Yes,Yes it is all about the art and the crucial component of it on our mindsets. I just wrote a quick stack stating Humans are becoming more robotic and robots/A.I will become more human like. That is what I see and will be talking about in 2025

ThothStudio (JCofMars)'s avatar

I’ll read your latest stack for sure. Just a further note on Gatto: I saw a series of lectures online about 15 or so years ago, but they were grainy and kind of 480p interlaced video quality, from some time in the ‘90s. A few years later he had suffered a stroke or two and then did a lengthy series of interviews which went over the same material on the American school system, how it was based on the Prussian model, etc., (as from his books). Those interviews were excellent, too, but he did not speak as easily as before on account of his strokes. Still, the mind was sharp and the information, etc., rock solid.

Exactly the Prussian model. Social engineering at its finest. An incredible experiment which many would be shocked and appalled if found out. Yes I was aware of that historical fact. Thanks for bringing it to the light. always a pleasure to see you in the feed.

I like your analogy comparing the use of AI to fast food. I’ve heard from people learning to draw who see AI-generated art as a way to enhance their work. However, I worry it’s causing some to skip the process of developing difficult skills, which they’d benefit from otherwise. They’re missing out on those incredible epiphany moments when you figure out how to do something differently as an artist.

I’m also not thrilled about AI gathering art to train its models without artists’ permission. I’m curious to see how this unfolds legally. It’s one thing for another artist to reference my work while learning—that’s common among comic artists, who often look to one another for inspiration. But with AI, it feels more like a haphazard collage of elements copied from various artists' styles.

AKcidentalwriter's avatar

Thank you for this great response!! Coming from a artist like yourself that understands the importance of 'the process'. My fear is that the process will be lost. The process is what develops an individual. A.I cuts out all of that out. The legal aspect is so sad. people do not realize the outright criminal act!! I am making this issue my top topic going forward!
